Today I’d like to share 3 words that can help you overcome procrastination. I just watched an awesome video with Brian Tracy where he gives us some tips on how to overcome chronic procrastination.
I know as an entrepreneur it is sometimes hard to get motivated to get things done – so I like this little tip and I challenge you to give it a try and see how it works for you. What Brian Tracy says is change your thinking to change your life. So much of what we do can change because of how we think about things.
We want to reprogram our sub-conscious mind and the way to get started he says is to just say the 3 magic words – “Do it now – Do it now – Do it now”. That starts to reprogram your subconscious to get busy doing the task at hand and then what he suggests to do is start with the biggest thing first.
I know a lot of times we tend to think about the things we want to do rather than actually taking action. If we actually just start getting busy doing the task – it’s not so bad. I think in a lot of times it’s worse thinking about it than actually doing it.
Also – make sure you are always thinkings about how good you are at getting tasks done. You want to be talking to yourself all the time reprogramming your mind that you are good at getting tasks done so that your subconscious starts to think that you are. If you are constantly telling it that you don’t have enough time or can’t get things done, your subconscious mind is not going to allow you to get things done.
So make sure you are talking good things to yourself and then try those 3 words – “Do it now – Do it now – Do it now” and then start the work.
